Overview
The Cessna Citation II was the first of the Model 550 series of Citation jets, which are light corporate jet built by Cessna. The Citation II, Model 550, was a direct development from the Citation I and led to the later development of the Citation II/SP and the S550 Citation S/II.
The Citation II has a seating capacity of 10. In addition, the plane has more powerful JT15D-4 engines, increase of fuel capacity, faster speeds and more range. The Model 551 Citation II/SP was launched as Cessna's means of competing in the turboprop market.The S/II could seat a maximum of 11 people and utilized an improved version of the engine. Fuel capacity was increased and the rest of the improvements were aerodynamic in nature.
The cabin of the Citation II measures 16 feet long by 4.8 feet wide by 4.7 feet tall giving it a total cabin volume of 263 cubic feet making it comfortable for 8 passengers, with the maximum configuration seating 9. The baggage compartment can hold up to 11.0 bags assuming your average piece of luggage is less than 5 cubic feet. The Citation II has a maximum range (not including headwinds, high altitude, hot temperatures, or higher capacity) of 2300 miles and a maximum speed of 432 mph.
